Happy New Year to all of you! We are loving the rain and sunshine to start off this year. The photo shows what the persimmon trees and asparagus bed looked like at the beginning of December and what it looks like today. It now looks like winter around here.

Harvest Update--

This past Saturday was our last week at the Hayward Farmers market, which is sad, but we are so happy with the long harvesting season that we had. The mild spring and summer was wonderful for our avocados to just hang out and relax on their trees. So even though we are still on the recovery journey with over a third of our trees, we had fruit from the healthy trees last from April to January.

Our citrus is just starting so we are thrilled to be able to continue selling our local organic citrus to Top Hatter restaurant in San Leandro. We highly recommend you trying out this local gem! You will not be disappointed.

Our Purrfect New Additions--

This past summer, we added three cats to our farm family. They are barn cats and play an important role in keeping the rodent population down around the farm. They spent the first four months living in the upper barn apartment, and now have been able to roam around outside for the past few weeks.

Any time we walk outdoors, we are greeted by all three of them. And I now do my gardening with them "helping" in any way they see fit. That means trying to eat my work gloves or insisting to have the important "pet the cat" break. They are a lot of fun and the dogs have been slowly accepting them into the family.
