The Bay Climate--
As I am writing this newsletter, it feels like November, not July. Just last week it was over 100 degrees and we enjoyed some nice warm evenings on the deck. The weather in the Bay Area can vary so much, but luckily it almost always within the comfort level of avocado trees. They love the 70s best but can handle up to the 90s and down to the 40s. While I was wilting
in the heat last month, the grove looked lush and happy. Even the normal community of bugs and birds zipping around. Especially the lizard, those guys sure are fast in this heat!

Market Agenda--
We finished harvesting our Zutano and Carmen Hass avocados and are bringing our Hass avocados to the market. Next up will be our GEM avocados. Both of these varieties are creamy and flavorful; perfect for guacamole and avocado toast.
Throughout the month we will bring lemons plus we have a few more weeks of asparagus. The amount of asparagus is limited this year, but we’ve planted out another bed that will be producing more in the next few years.
* We will not be at the market on July 9th! Instead we will be having a farm tour. Feel free to sign up for a tour at
the link below. *
Farm Tours--
If you are interested in signing up for a farm tour, you can do so here. Tours are offered every 2nd Saturday of the month at 10am. They consist of a 3-hour farm experience around the property, which includes seeing the grove and the animals.
This month we will have two new baby goats to show you! We are in the process of picking them up now and they soon will be situated in their new home.

Neighboring Wildlife Community--
Last year we shared some photos of a coyote family that was living near out driveway, and they were back again this year. We had a fun time taking videos and photos of them as they played and explored. They outgrew their first home and have move on.
Now we are tracking a group of turkeys as they raise their babies near our home. I am not a turkey expert but raising their chicks seems like a group project, with quite a few moms and chicks of all ages going around together. Now we enjoy stopping for the turkey family crossings.

Turning of the Avocado Tide--
The season for Bacon and Fuerte avocados is finished. This year was a light year for both of these varieties, but we are happy to see lots and lots of little baby avocados on the trees for next years crop. Avocado trees rotate between a light and heavy production
years. Since we are a small farm with youngish trees this swing really affect us, but as the trees mature, the light years will make less of a difference. I mean, what avocado tree wouldn’t thrive here! We have such a great climate in the Bay Area.

Recipe: Chilled Cado-limade--
Need a cool-off as the summer approaches? This Brazilian-style blend of lime, honey, and avocado tastes like a creamy lemonade and makes a perfectly refreshing beverage to enjoy when it gets hot out.
